Abstrak
Generally, schools are equipped to improve the quality of education through reading activities, particularly in the subject of history. Among these amenities is the presence of a library. The purpose of the research is to analyze the utilization of the library through the literacy corner program in enhancing students' reading interest in history learning at SMAN 2 Palu and to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors that can influence such utilization. The researcher employs a qualitative method, producing descriptive data from individuals or observable behaviors in written or spoken words. According to the findings of this study. reading activities through the literacy corner program are implemented during recess and empty class periods. Students select books to peruse and are frequently accompanied by teachers. In addition to reading, some students use this time to complete assignments assigned by subject instructors. The literacy alcove program can influence the growth of students' historical reading interests. It depends on some variables, such as the students, the instructors, and the resources already in place. The library's collection, particularly its history section, is limiting because it consists primarily of textbooks and fictional works. There are a lot more textbooks available than fictional books. The availability of an adequate and equitable supply of history textbooks, which can aid students in completing tasks and help professors provide instructional materials, is a supportive element.
