Abstrak Flamboyant flowers contain flavonoid compounds, one of which is anthocyanin. Anthocyanins have one property, namely that they can change color at different pH levels, making it possible to apply them as acid base indicators. This study was conducted to determine the anthocyanin content in flamboyant flowers and its reaction to acidic and alkaline compounds. The extraction method used is maceration extraction with two sample variations, namely dry samples and fresh samples using 70% ethanol as a solvent. The extract obtained was tested for anthocyanin content, pH trajectory, and its performance as an acid-base titration indicator. The identification results showed that the flamboyant flower extract contained flavonoid compounds, namely anthocyanins. The total anthocyanin obtained in the dry sample extract was 9.7967 ppm while in the fresh sample it was 24.4917 ppm. Flamboyant flower extract is red at pH 1-8, greenish yellow at pH 9-10, light green at pH 11-12, green at pH 13 and yellow at pH 14. Flamboyant flower extract has a pH trajectory in the pH range of 8-11 so that it can be applied as an indicator in acid-base titration, namely strong base weak acid titration, strong basestrong acid and weak base strong acid replacing phenolphthalein indicator and methyl orange indicator.
