Mutya Absari, 2020. Analysis of Problem Solving Ability of Students Class XI SMAN Model Terpadu Madani Palu in Thermochemistry Material. Chemistry Education Study Program, Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University, Palu. Supervisor: Ijirana. The purpose of this study was to analyze the problem solving abilities of students class XI SMAN Model Terpadu Madani Palu in the Thermochemistry material. The results of the assessment were based on the Polya Stages. This type of research was a quantitative descriptive study with a case study design. Sampling was done by random sampling. The sample in this study were 120 students of class XI MIPA. The research data were obtained from the problem solving ability test instrument that had been validated by theoretically and empirically, which amounted to 5 questions in the form of essay. The results showed that the students had not been able to understand the problem well in almost all concepts in thermochemistry except for the calorimeter concept; students have been able to plan problem solving on the concept of calorimeters, changes in enthalpy, and bond energy; the ability of students to carry out the problem-solving stage well on the concepts of calorimeters, systems, environment, exothermic reactions, and enthalpy changes; and students were not able to perform this stage on the concept of bond energy and Hess's law; all students had not been able to see the results of solving problems properly in this Thermochemimistry material.
