Abstrak Kholifatul Umiyah, 2020, "Analysis of Saponin Levels in the Extracts of the Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa) Skin Using Gravimetric Method". Bachelor Thesis. Chemistry Education Study Program, Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, Palu. Supervisor: Tri Santoso. Mahkota dewa (phaleria macrocarpa) is a plant lives which lives in the tropical areas it can be found in Tinombala village, Central Sulawesi. The skin of mahkota dewa fruit can be used as traditional medicine. Saponin is an antioxidant which able to counteract free radicals in the human body. This study aimed to determine the saponin levels contained in the extract of mahkota dewa by using the gravimetric method. The saponin in mahkota dewa's skin is extracted by using solvent methanol with a maceration method for 3 x 24 hour obtained extract as much 17,1083 g. The result showed that the extract of mahkota dewa's skin contained 7,7 ± 0,5 % of saponin. Keywords: Saponin, Mahkota Dewa fruit, Gravimetric Method |
