Noni is plant that has the potential to be used as traditional medicinal ingridients. This study aims to determine the inhibition of noni extracts (Morinda citrifolia L.) in inhibiting the growth of the fungus Candida albicans. This research uses a sample of noni fruit extracted using three different solvents namely aquades, acetone and n-hexane solvents. The suspension of the fungus was Candida albicans synchronized with a standard MC. Farland and tested using the wells method. The results showed that noni fruit extract using acetone solvent gave the strongest percentage of inhibition to the growth of the fungus Candida albicans compared to noni fruit extraxt using distilled aquades and n-hexane. The results of the inhibitory percentage of noni fruit extract on the growth of the Candida albicans using aquades solvents is 3,55%, noni fruit extraxt using acetone solvent 50,15% and noni fruit extract using n-hexane solvent that is equal to 38,83%. So it can be concluded that the noni fruit extract has fungal inhibitory effect on the growth of fungus Candida albicans. Keyword : Antifungal, Candida albicans, Noni fruit extract |
