Abstrak Irfan, 2020. Adsorption of Biocharcoal Nutmeg Shell (Myristica Fragrans Houtt) Againts Copper Ion (Cu). Bachelor Thesis. Chemistry Education Study Program, Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University, Palu. Supervisor: Daud Karel Walanda. This study aimed to determine the optimum weight of biocharcoal, the optimum of contact time, the optimum pH of a solution, and the optimum concentration of the copper solution on the absorption of biocharcoal from nutmeg shell. The method used was a laboratory experiment by using nutmeg shell bio-charcoal powder as an adsorbent. The concentration of absorbed Cu2+ ions was measured using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) at a wavelength of 324,7 nm. The results showed that the optimum adsorption of Cu2+ ions on the optimum weight of biocharcoal was at 125 mg with the percentage of absorption of Cu2+ ions of 95,69%, the weight of absorbed Cu2+ ions was 11,48 mg/g. The optimum contact time was obtained at 60 minutes with the absorption percentage of Cu2+ ions of 98,19%, the weight of adsorbed Cu2+ ions of 10,25 mg/g. The optimum pH was obtained at pH 7,0 with the absorption percentage of Cu2+ ions of 99,95%, the weight of adsorbed Cu2+ ions was 11,99 mg/g. The optimum concentration was obtained at a concentration of 20 ppm with the absorption percentage of Cu2+ ions of 99,75%, the weight of the adsorbed Cu2+ ions was 7,99 mg/g. The maximum absorption capacity of biocharcoal against Cu2+ ions using the Langmuir isotherm equation was 62,5 mg/g biocharcoal. Keywords: Adsorption, Copper, Biocharcoal, Nutmeg Shell. |
