| Abstrak This study aims to obtain a description of students' difficulties in solving story problems on social arithmetic material in class VII SMP Negeri 16 Palu in terms of mathematical ability. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using the method of tests, interviews and documentation. Researchers used time triangulation to test the validity of the data. The subjects in this study were students with high, medium, and low math abilities at SMP Negeri 16 Palu. The results showed that subjects with high mathematical ability (F) had no difficulty in solving social arithmetic story problems. Meanwhile, subjects with moderate mathematical ability (RD) had difficulty in carrying out problem solving plans and drawing conclusions from answers. Meanwhile, subjects with low mathematical ability (RA) have difficulty understanding questions, planning problem solving, carrying out problem solving plans, and drawing conclusions from answers. |
