Abstrak
ABSTRACT Rahmi Hamzah (2021).Representation Analysis for Understanding The Concept of Linear Equation One Variabel in Class VII Smp Labschool Untad Palu.Undergraduate Thesis of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Mathematics and Sciences Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University. Supervised by Sutji Rochaminah. The purpose of this research is to describethe representation for uderstandingthe concept of linear equations of one variable in class VII SMP Labschool Untad Palu. The subjects of this study consisted of five students, each representing each representation consisting of visual representations and symbols. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The results of this study indicate that: a). AR subject in solving PLSV (Linear equation one variabel) problem number 2 by translating story problems and solving them using visualization, in the completion process of solving them the subject uses the concept of integeres the concept of the coordinate system and the concept of data processung. b). Subject ZC solves PLSV problem number 1 by translating the problem in the form of a story into a mathematical sentence in the form of an equation by substitution. From this solution, the subject of ZC uses the concept of discount and uses the concept of integer operations. c). AI subject solves PlsV problem number 1 by translating the problem and solving it by directly operating the known numbers, using the concept of integer operations and the concept of discount. However, the AI subject is stll wrong in translating the prblem and writing it into a mathematical sentence, so that the AI subject cannot make the mathematical equation or can’t solve it correcly. d). AU subject in completing PLSV number 2 by translating the problem in the form of a story into a mathematical sentence in the form of an eqution and solving the equation by substitution. The subject uses the concept of integers, but the subject is still wrong in translating the promblem. So that when subsitituted into the creates equation, the result of the operation is also not correct. e). AN subject in solving PLSV problems by translating story hang quetions into mathematical sentences in the form of equations by substitution, students also use the concept of integers and operate these numbers.
