Baharuddin, M.Si. The purpose of this study is describe application of problem based learning to improve student learning outcomes in comparison material In class VII B Junior High School 20 Palu.. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) and its design uses the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this study were all students of class VII B SMP Negeri 20 Palu. The number of research subjects was 20 students and three students were selected as informants. The results showed that through the application of the Problem Based Learning model, student learning outcomes improved, by following the following phases of the Problem Based Learning model: (1) Orientation of students to problems, (2) Organizing students to learn, (3) Assisting individual investigations and groups, (4) Develop and present the work, and (5) Analyze and evaluate the problem-solving process. In step 1 the researcher provides motivation to learn; in step 2 students work on a structured LKPD with their groups to find the concept of comparison; in step 3 the researcher directs students' knowledge of the concept of comparison through class discussion; in step 4 the researcher provides practice questions followed by class presentations; and in step 5 students convey back the concept of comparison that has been obtained during learning; |
