ABSTRACT Ega Fitriyana, 2021."Students' Perceptions of the Teaching Ability of Tadulako University FKIP School Field Introduction Students at SMP Negeri 17 Palu". Essay. Biology Education Study Program, Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. This study aims to describe students' perceptions about the teaching ability of students in the field introduction of FKIP Tadulako University at SMP Negeri 17 Palu. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The population of this study were students of SMP Negeri 17 Palu who had carried out the learning process carried out by PLP FKIP students at Tadulako University as many as 182 students in this study totaling 36 students consisting of class IX AF each 6 students per class using quota sampling technique. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The results of students' perceptions about the teaching ability of students in the field introduction of FKIP Tadulako University at SMP Negeri 17 Palu were in the very good category with a percentage of 52.77% (19 respondents). Judging from each sub-variable, namely: 1) Opening skills are in the good category with a percentage of 52.77% (19 respondents). 2) Class management skills are in the very good category with a percentage of 66.66% (24 respondents). 3) The ability to explain is in the very good category with a percentage of 58.33% (21 respondents). 4) Questioning skills are in the very good category with a percentage of 55.55% (20 respondents). 5) Skills in providing reinforcement are in the good category with a percentage of 50.00% (18 respondents). 6) Skills in conducting variations are in the poor category with a percentage of 47.22% (17 respondents). 7) The skills of guiding small group discussions are in the very good category with a percentage of 52.77% (19 respondents). 8) Small group and individual teaching skills fall into the very good category with a percentage of 97.22% (35 respondents). 9) Skills in using electronic media are in the good category with a percentage of 36.11% (13 respondents). 10) Skills for closing lessons are in the good category with a percentage of 50.00% (18 respondents).
