Ni Putu Lia Indrawati, 2020. The Effect of Simplisia of Salam leaf(Syzygium polyanthum) on Decreased Blood Glucose Rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar Strains Induced by Pig Fat and It’s Utilization as Learning Resources.Bachelor Thesis, Biology Education Study Program, Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education Department, Teaching and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, Palu.Supervisor Sutrisnawati. Salam leaf have been famous for a long time used as traditional medicine. Salam leaf have some chemical ingredients such as tannins, flavonoids, and essential oils. This study aims to describe the effect of salam leaf simplicia on decreasing blood glucose levels in white rats induced by lard and its use as a learning resource. This study uses an experimental method with a completely randomized design pattern (CRD). Experimental animals were grouped into 7 groups and each group consisted of 3 white rats namely K (0) groups that were not treated, K (+) groups that were induced by lard and given generic drugs, K (-) groups that were fat-induced pigs, then groups P1, P2, P3, and P4 were induced by lard and given Salam leaf simplicia with concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Blood glucose level examination using glucotest. The research data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANAVA) and further tested with the Least Significant Difference test (LSD) at ? 0.05 level. The results showed that salam leaf simplicia (Syzygium polyanthum) could effectively reduce blood glucose levels induced by pig fat. The most effective concentration to reduce blood glucose levels in white rats is a concentration of 100% (P4). Furthermore, the results of this study were applied in the form of learning resources in the form of practical guides. Based on the results of the validation test by a team of experts namely content, design and media experts as well as students, the results of the study show it is feasible to be used as a learning resource in the form of practical guides with a percentage of 87%.
