| Abstrak This study aimed to improve EFL students’ vocabulary mastery through the implementation of Labua–English Flashcards at SMP Negeri 4 Bungku. Vocabulary mastery in this research refers to students’ ability to recognize word meanings, pronounce words correctly, and use vocabulary appropriately in simple sentences. The study was conducted based on the Classroom Action Research (CAR) design following the model proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 21 eighth-grade students in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research was implemented in one cycle using Labua English Flashcards as the main teaching medium. These flashcards were designed by integrating English vocabulary with Bahasa Indonesia and the local Labua language to support students’ understanding and retention. Data were collected through vocabulary tests, observation checklists, field notes, and student feedback questionnaires. Quantitative data were analyzed using mean scores and mastery percentages, while qualitative data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the implementation of Labua English Flashcards led to a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery. Students demonstrated better understanding of word meanings, improved pronunciation accuracy, and increased ability to use vocabulary in simple descriptive sentences. In addition, classroom observations revealed higher student participation, confidence, and motivation during the learning process. Based on these results, it can be concluded that Labua English Flashcards are an effective teaching medium for improving EFL students’ vocabulary mastery in junior high school students.
