Abstrak Education aims to improve the quality of human resources to compete in the global era to deal with technological developments in the 21st century, the government is trying to improve the national education system through the curriculum. However, many excellent schools choose to develop the curriculum by integrating international curricula such as Cambridge curriculum. The main objectives of this qualitative research were to find out how is the implementation of 2013 curriculum and Cambridge curriculum as a curriculum integration and to find out the advantages and disadvantages of implemented the curriculum integration to the students at SD Islam Al-Azhar Palu. The data were generated from in-depth interview, observation refers to passive participation observation, and documentation and analysed through triangulation method. The analysis revealed that SD Islam Al-Azhar Palu in implementing the integrated curriculum, namely the 2013 curriculum and the Cambridge curriculum, is a rule from the central Al-Azhar foundation where each school belongs to the foundation needs to carry out and implement all concepts and products: lesson plans, syllabus, handbook and guidebook that have been designed from the center, Thus, SD Islam Al-Azhar Palu does not know clearly and definitely which parts are integrated in both the 2013 curriculum and the Cambridge curriculum. the research findings showed that the advantages of implemented curriculum integration it can be an option for implementing learning that is fun and still mindful. In addition, it helps teachers to be more creative because the teaching materials are designed to be interesting and full English so that students can easily get used to using English and familiar with English as the vision of the school is the realization of a Muslim generation that is faithful, devoted, civilized, critical and able to compete globally. While based on the result of this research the disadvantages of impelementing this curriculum integartion is the students have to be extra in learning english because all of the textbook full english. The findings suggest that Each school has the right to determine what kind of curriculum it wants to integrate with the regional curriculum, with the aim of developing the best curriculum, and this research can be input as well as the best solution in realizing a fun and valuable teaching and learning process for students. |
