Abstrak ABSTRACT Wahyu Khoirunnisa (A 122 20 010). This thesis entitled “Teaching Vocabulary Through Mnemonic Technique to The Grade X Students of MAN 3 Parigi” Under the supervision of Mawardin M.Said and Aminah. The aim of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of the teaching vocabulary through Mnemonic Techniques to grade X students at MAN 3 Parigi. The research applied a quasi-experimental (one group pre-test and posttest) design. The sample was selected by purposive sampling; they were consisted of 25 students of class X IIS MAN 3 Parigi. The instruments of this research are tests and questionnaires, the data analysis uses the N-Gain test. The results of this research, based on data calculations using N-Gain test, Mnemonic Technique were proven to be effective in increasing students' vocabulary mastery. It can be seen from N- Gain score results, the score is in the medium category, while in terms of interpretation, N-Gain percent score results are in the fairly effective category. This statement is also supported by the results of the questionnaire, where X IIS students showed a positive response to teaching vocabulary through the Mnemonic technique.
