Abstrak
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the HelloTalk application in improving the fluency of students in speaking English at SMAN 1 Pamona Utara. This study used a quantitative method with a quasiexperimental design involving two groups, namely the experimental group taught using the HelloTalk application and the control group taught using conventional methods. Both groups were given pre-tests and post-tests to measure the students' fluency in speaking. The data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental group (68.5) was higher than that of the control group (62.25). The t-value (5.85) was greater than the t-table (2.002), which means there was a significant difference between the two groups. Thus, the use of the HelloTalk application proved to be effective in improving students' speaking fluency. Through the Voice Room feature, students can interact directly with native speakers, thereby improving their fluency and comprehension in speaking English. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the HelloTalk application is an effective digital learning medium for improving students' speaking skills through interactive and meaningful communication.
