| Abstrak Siska Rahma Oktaviani (A12121222). This thesis, entitled “Applying Taboo Game toImprove Students’ Vocabulary Mastery of SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani”. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Afrillia Anggreni and Andi Patmasari. This study aims to improve the vocabulary mastery of the seventh grade students through the use of the Taboo Game at SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani. This research employed a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study consisted of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri Model Terpadu Madani. The samples were class VII Lamalonda as the experimental group and class VII Erwin Sumampau as the control group, which were chosen using purposive sampling. The researcher administered pre-tests and post-tests to collect data. The results revealed that the mean score of the experimental group on the post-test (88) was higher than that of the control group (61). The analysis using SPSS 27 showed that the significance value (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) was 0.000, which is lower than 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. These findings suggest that the Taboo Game is an effective medium to improve students’ vocabulary mastery in English language teaching.
