This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the role playing method in developing the vocabulary mastery of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Palu. The background of this research is the students' low vocabulary mastery due to lack of motivation, uninteresting teaching methods, and low self-confidence in using English. A pre-experimental design with a single group was used, involving 32 students from tenth grade G. Students were given a pre-test, treatment through role playing activities using real-life scenarios, and a post-test. The results showed a significant improvement in vocabulary mastery, with the average score increasing from 12.06 in the pre-test to 18.75 in the post-test. Data analysis using SPSS indicated that the assumptions of normality and homogeneity were met, and the hypothesis test (Independent Sample t-Test) showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the role playing method had a significant effect. Therefore, the role playing method is proven to be effective, engaging, and beneficial in improving students' English vocabulary acquisition. Keywords: Role Playing; Develop; Vocabulary Mastery;
