| Abstrak Nazwa Meisya Amanda Putri (A12121101). Exploring Students’ Perceptions of English Vocabulary Learning Difficulties at SMPN 7 Palu. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, a Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University. Under the Supervisor of Darmawan and Maf’ulah. This research aimed to explore students’ perceptions of difficulties in learning English vocabulary at SMPN 7 Palu. This study employed a qualitative research approach involving eighth-grade students as the participants. The data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 students and semi-structured interviews conducted with six student representatives from six different classes. The findings revealed that most students had positive perceptions of learning English vocabulary and recognized the importance of vocabulary mastery in improving English skills. However, students still experienced difficulties in remembering word meanings, pronouncing new vocabulary, and using vocabulary in speaking and writing activities. In addition, lack of confidence and feelings of nervousness were identified as factors influencing students’ vocabulary learning difficulties. The use of learning media such as pictures, videos, and games was perceived as helpful in supporting vocabulary learning and increasing students’ interest.Based on these findings, teachers are encouraged to use varied learning media and provide more practice opportunities to help students overcome vocabulary learning difficulties.Nazwa Meisya Amanda Putri (A12121101).
