Abstrak
This research aims to examine whether the use of the TikTok application affects the vocabulary mastery of eleventh-grade students at MAN 2 Palu. The study was motivated by classroom observations showing that many students experienced difficulties in vocabulary learning due to limited lexical resources, which reduced their ability to use English vocabulary effectively in productive language tasks. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, the study involved two classes: an experimental class taught using TikTok as a digital learning medium and a control class taught through conventional instructional methods. The population consisted of all eleventh-grade students at MAN 2 Palu, totaling 488 students. From this population, 32 students from class XI E were selected as the experimental group and 32 students from class XI A as the control group. Data were collected through vocabulary tests administered as pre-tests and post-tests. The findings indicated that students in the experimental group achieved greater improvement in vocabulary mastery than those in the control group, demonstrating that TikTok had a significant positive effect on students‘ learning outcomes. These results suggest that TikTok is an effective and engaging digital learning medium that can support English language teaching, particularly in enhancing students‘ vocabulary mastery.
