| Abstrak Fathira Qalbina, 2025. ?The Use of Dixit Board Game in Developing Speaking Skills of The Eleventh Grade Students at SMA Negeri 9 PALU?. A Skripsi English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, Under the Supervision of Rofiqoh and Zarkiani Hasyim. This study aims to prove the effectiveness of the Dixit board game in developing the speaking skills of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Palu. The research employed a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental group (XI MIA 2) and a control group (XI MIA 1), selected through purposive sampling from a population of 145 students across five parallel classes. The research instrument was a speaking test assessing fluency, accuracy, and comprehensibility. Both groups took a pre-test and a post-test in which students described given topics in English. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. The results showed that the experimental group‘s mean score increased from 54.46 to 76.46, a gain of 22.00 points, while the control group‘s mean score increased from 49.10 to 59.20, a gain of 10.10 points. Tests of normality and homogeneity confirmed that the data met the assumptions for further analysis. The paired sample t-test indicated a significant improvement in the experimental group‘s speaking performance after the treatment (p < 0.05), and the independent sample t-test revealed a significant difference between the post-test scores of the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). These findings confirm that the Dixit board game has a significant positive effect on students‘ speaking skills compared to conventional teaching methods.
