Abstrak
Sardianti (A12121053) The Effectiveness of the Make-A-Match Technique in Improving Vocabulary Mastery of Eighth Grade Students at SMP Negeri 12 Palu. A skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Arts Departement, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Dr. H. Jamiluddin, M.Hum. and Wahyudin S.Pd., M.Pd. This research focuses on the effectiveness of using the make a match technique in improving the vocabulary mastery of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Palu. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with two groups: experimental and control. The experimental group received treatment using the make a match technique, while the control group was taught using conventional media. Pre-test and post-test were used to assess students' vocabulary mastery in the experimental and control classes. The results of the study using the make a match technique significantly improved students' vocabulary mastery, as evidenced by the average score of the experimental class increasing from 66.15 to 84.84. The Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference between the two groups (p<0.05), indicating that the use of the make a match technique is effective in improving students' vocabulary mastery.
