Nita Andriani, A 121 21 044 “The Use of Colored Pictures to Teach Vocabulary to The Eighth Grade Students at SMPN 19 PALU”. A skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Arts Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, Under Supervision of Sudarkam R. Mertosono and Hastini. The objective of this research was to determine the effectiveness of colored pictures in improving students' vocabulary skills, to determine whether there is a significant difference between the learning achievements of students in the experimental group and the control group and to discuss students' responses in dealing with vocabulary understanding through colored pictures. Tests and questionnaires were used in the quantitative descriptive design of the study to collect information from grade eighth students of SMPN 19 PALU. The findings of the study indicate that colored picture media is proven to be effective and can increase student motivation.
