| Abstrak Asri Nur Komariah (A12121043). This skripsi entitled ?Teaching Vocabulary Through Cartoon Movie of Seventh Grade Students at SMP NEGERI 12 PALU to Increase Vocabulary Mastery?, under the supervision of Sriati Usman and Maf’ulah. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using cartoon movies in improving the vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Palu. Vocabulary mastery is an essential aspect of English learning; however, many students face difficulties due to limited vocabulary knowledge and low learning motivation. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized control group pre-test and post-test involving 30 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was taught vocabulary using cartoon movies, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics and non-parametric statistical tests, namely the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test. The results showed that the mean score of the experimental group increased significantly from 66 in the pre-test to 92 in the post-test, while the control group showed only a slight improvement. The statistical analysis indicated a significant difference between the two groups, leading to the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. It can be concluded that cartoon movies are effective media for improving students’ vocabulary mastery as they create an enjoyable learning atmosphere, enhance students’ motivation, and facilitate vocabulary learning through visual and auditory contexts.
