This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Jigsaw technique in improving students’ reading comprehension of descriptive texts at SMP Negeri 15 Palu. This research employed a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental group and a control group selected through cluster random sampling. The participants were seventh-grade students. The instrument used was a reading test consisting of multiple-choice and essay questions administered through pre-test and post-test. The results showed that the Jigsaw technique had a significant positive effect on students’ reading comprehension, as indicated by the t-counted value (4.36) which was higher than the t-table value (0.117). It can be concluded that the Jigsaw technique is effective in improving students’ reading comprehension.
