Abstrak
Uci Tiara (A12120187). This Skripsi is entitled “Using QAR Strategy in Improving Reading Comprehension of the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 15 Sigi”. English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under the supervision of (1) Drs. Sudarkam R. Mertosono, M.A., Ph.D., and (2) Desrin Lebagi, S.Pd., M.Pd. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using QAR (Question- Answer Relationship) Strategy in improving Reading comprehension of the grade eighth students of SMP Negeri 15 Sigi. This research used quasi experimental research design with two classes designated as the experimental class and the control class. The participants in this research were grade eighth students. In collecting the data, the researcher used pre-test and post-test. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 22. The result shows that the mean score of post- tests of the students in the experimental class (69.57) was higher than the mean score in the control class (58.83). Based on the result of the independent sample t- test, the sig (2 tailed) value (0.018) was less than 0.05. This finding indicates that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. While means, using QAR Strategy was effective in improving reading comprehension of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 15 Sigi.
