Abstrak Ni Ketut Irmawati (A12120129) this Skripsi entitled “Correlation Between Grammar Mastery and Writing Skill of the Tenth Grade Student at MA Al-Khairat Pusat Palu”. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Under the supervision of Dharmawan and Hastini. This research aims to find out correlation between grammar mastery and writing skill of the Tenth Grade Student at MA Al-Khairat Pusat Palu. This research applied a correlational research design. It involves two variables: grammar mastery (Variable X) and writing skill (Variable Y). This research involved all tenth-grade students at MA Al-Khairat Pusat Palu, the number of sample was 20 students selected through purposive sampling technique. The sampling technique was used due to the reason that the researcher was asked to only use one out of three excellent classes in the school. The data collected by using a test which are grammar test and writing test. Pearson Product Moment and SPSS 23th version was used to analyse the data. The result of the data analysis showed that the correlation coefficient between students’ grammar mastery and writing skill is 0.401. It indicates that there is a moderate correlation between students’ grammar mastery and writing skill. This suggests that while grammar mastery plays a role in influencing writing ability, other factors also contribute to students' overall writing proficiency. Further investigation into these additional factors could provide valuable insights for enhancing writing instruction and student performance. |
