Abstrak Rifka Algifairah (A 121 20 122) “Improving the Ability of the Ninth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 15 Palu in Writing Procedural Text through Realia Media”. A skripsi, English Education Study Program, Department of Language and Art Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Under the supervision of Abd. Kamaruddin and Maf’ulah. This study aimed to prove whether the use of Realia Media can improve students writing Ability. The design of this research was quasi-experimental study. The population of this study is 126 students. Purposive sampling was used, where 22 students belonged to experimental group (IX A) and 20 students belonged to control group (IX C). The instrument of the data collection was writing tests given as pre-test and post-test given to both experimental and control groups. Data analysis from the pre-test resulted that the control group gained a mean score (57.20) and the experimental group (56.09). Meanwhile, the post-test result gained a higher score in experimental group with mean score (90.09) than the control group (78.25). Furthermore, the t-counted (4.02) was higher than the t-table (1.686) in significance in (0.05). It indicates that the use of Realia Media can improve student ability in writing procedural text. Therefore, it can be said that Realia Media has significant effect in improving students writing ability of ninth grade of SMP Negeri 15 Palu.
