| Abstrak ABSTRACT Ummu Aiman (A12120103) “Using Talking Chips Technique to Improve Speaking Ability of the Eight Grade Students of SMPN 1 Ulubongka”. English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Under the Supervision Nadrun and Wahyudin. This study aims to prove whether the use of Talking Chips technique can improve the speaking ability of the eight grade students of SMPN 1 Ulubongka. This study is quantitative research, and the researcher used a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test to measure the improvement of students' speaking ability. The results show a significant improvement in students' speaking ability after the application of the talking chips technique. The data collected were statistically analyzed to determine the significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. The data shows that the mean post-test score of the experimental group (60.14) was higher than that of the control group (49.27). In addition, based on the hypothesis analysis, it shows that Ttest > T-table (2.067 > 1.681). This means that the research hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion, the use of Talking Stick technique can improve the speaking ability of the eight grade students of SMPN 1 Ulubongka. Keywords: Teknik talking chips, Speaking Ability, Improve |
