Abstrak Dinda Rizkiyana, A 121 20 044. “The Implementation of Task-Based Learning Method with English Songs to Improve Listening Comprehension of the Tenth Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo". A skripsi, English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Under the Supervision of Sriati Usman and Anjar Kusuma Dewi. This research aims to find out the effect of the implementation of Task-Based Learning method with English songs to improve students listening comprehension at SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo. This research used a quasi-experimental design consisting of experimental and control classes. The sample of this research was two classes of tenth-grade students, with the amount 65 students of X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 2. This research used a cluster random sampling technique. In the process of collecting the data, the researcher used an instrument which contains of essay test. The result of the data analysis shows that the mean score of the experimental class significantly increased from 32.52 to 62.75, while the mean score of the control class increased from 30.29 to 42.47. The researcher found that the t-counted was higher than the t-table (5.65>1.670). It means that the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of Task-Based Learning method with English songs can improve listening comprehension of the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo.
