Abstrak Sriwangi (A 121 20 014). “ Using Partner Reading Strategy to Improve the Students’ Reading Comprehension of the Eight Grade Students at SMP Negeri 3 Ampibabo”. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of partner reading strategies in improving reading comprehension of grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Ampibabo. This is a quasi-experimental research design. The sample was 24 students in grades VIII A and VIII B. The data collected was statistically analyzed. Data was collected through pre-test and post-test, and the result was analyzed statically. The pre-test mean score for experimental class was 47.33, while the control class score 38.67. After implementasy the Partner Reading Strategy. The experimental class post-test mean score increased to 67.42, while the control group achiered 55.08. Statical analysis, using 11 degress of freedom of 0,05 significant level, revealed a significant different between the two groups. Althoght the experimental group demonstrate improrement compared to the control group, both class remaired below minimum pass grade (KKM) of 75. These results suggest that while Partner Reading Strategy shoces promise to improving reading comprehension, four modificalti man be reeded to achieve optimal outcome for grade VIII shoces of SMP Negeri 3 Ampibabo Keywords: Improving; Reading Comprehension; Partner Reading |
