The objective of this research was to prove whether or not the use of Duolingo app enhance English vocabulary of the eighth grade students of SMP Labschool Untad Palu. This research used quasi-experimental research design, involving an experimental and a control group. The population of the research was the eighth grade students of SMP Labschool Untad Palu. The sample was taken by applying cluster random sampling technique. The sample was 25 students of VIII B as the experimental group and 25 students of VIII D as the control group. The instrument in collecting data was test (pretest and posttest). Results indicated that the mean score of the experimental group was 24.8, substantially higher than the mean score of the control group, which was 4.44. Statistical analysis using a significance level of 0.05 revealed a t-count of 27.38, exceeding the critical t-table value of 1.679, confirming that the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. This finding demonstrates that the Duolingo app is effective in improving vocabulary acquisition among eighth-grade students. The study emphasizes the importance of incorporating interactive and digital tools in language learning to create an engaging and productive educational environment.
