English Education Study Program, Department of Language and Arts Education, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Aminah and Agussatriana. This research aimed to determine whether the use of Wattpad application in the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Sirenja can improve students reading comprehension. The researcher applied a pre-experimental research design. The population of this research was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Sirenja. The researcher chose the sample by using a purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study was eighth grade A students, totaling 17 students. Data collection was done by giving pre-test and post-test. The use of Wattpad application can improve the reading comprehension of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Sirenja and the utilization of this strategy can be a learning media applied by teachers in the teaching and learning process as an effective strategy to improve students reading comprehension, especially the eighth grade students. It can be seen from the students pre-test and post-test results that before using the Wattpad application students got quite good scores in reading comprehension, where some of them had been able to determine characters and background in a story because some of them had used the Wattpad application and they are familiar with the stories that researcher used in the pre-test. In the post-test results the students got very good scores, because after doing the treatment using the Wattpad application in learning it made all the students in the eighth grade A enjoy and not get bored in reading which affected their scores. Where after the treatment they have been able to determine the main character, the main idea, the story setting, and answer the test with good grammar. Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Dealing with the research question, the using Wattpad application has positive effect to improve the students reading comprehension in term of literal comprehension. It is proved by looking at the mean score of the students before and after the treatment. It indicates that the students reading comprehension can be improved by using Wattpad application strategy. Furthermore, the results of the data analysis show that the result of t-counted is higher than t-table. It means that the research hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted in which there are significant differences on the students reading comprehension.
