| Abstrak Miftahul Jannah (A12119197). “Increasing Vocabulary of Grade VIII Students at MTs Al-Amiin Wani through Short Video”. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Department of Language and Art Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Mukrim as supervisor and Mashuri as co-supervisor. This research aims to find out increasing vocabulary of grade VIII students at Mts Al-Amiin Wani through short video. The population was grade VIII students at Mts Al-Amiin Wani, which include 43 students of both classes. The sample of this study was VIII B 22 students as the experimental group and VIII A 23 students as the control group taken from by using simple random sampling technique. The instruments to collect the data were test, which consisted of pre-test and post-test. The result of the test showed the mean score of pre-test of the experimental group was 49.34, while the mean score of the control group was 51.37. Then the mean score of post-test of experimental group was 92.55 , while the control group was 70.54. The value of t-counted (4.91) was higher than the value of t-table (2.01), which means that the hypothesis is accepted. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the through short video is effective to increasing vocabulary of grade VIII students at MTs Al-Amiin Wani. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII Mts Al-Amiin Wani yang berjumlah 43 siswa dari kedua kelas tersebut. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII B 22 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan siswa VIII A 23 sebagai kelompok kontrol yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes yang terdiri dari pre-test dan post-test. Hasil tes menunjukkan nilai rata-rata pre-test kelompok eksperimen adalah 49,34, sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelompok kontrol adalah 51,37. Kemudian nilai rata-rata post-test kelompok eksperimen adalah 92,55, sedangkan kelompok kontrol adalah 70,54. Nilai t-hitung (4,91) lebih besar dari nilai t-tabel (2,01), yang berarti hipotesis diterima. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui video pendek efektif untuk meningkatkan kosa kata siswa kelas VIII di MTs Al-Amiin Wani.
