Abstrak ABSTRACT Amelia Dinda Irawati (A12119190). Using Hot Seat Game in Developing Vocabulary mastery of grade Eight Students of SMP Negeri 3 Sirenja, Donggala. A skripsi of English Education Study Program,Language and Art Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Mukrim, and Andi Patmasari. The purpose of this research was to find out whether using hot seat game can develop vocabulary mastery of grade eight students of SMP Negeri 3 Sirenja, Donggala. This research used quasi experimental design with 32 students. The samples of this research were VIIIA as the experimental class and VIIIB as the control class which selected by using cluster random sampling technique. The instrument of the data collection is a test consisted of pre-test and post-test. The posttest was conducted to measure the students vocabulary mastery after the treatment. The data obtained from the test were analyzed statistically. The result of the data analysis shows that there is a significant difference between the results of pre-test and post-test. It was proven by looking at the mean score of both tests results where the mean score of experimental class is significantly improved from 61.94 to 75.83. Meanwhile, control class mean score is improved from 64.72 to 71.11. Based on the result of pre-test and post-test, the researcher found that the t-counted value (3.61822) is higher than t-table (1.691). It can be concluded that the research hypothesis is accepted. In other words, the use of hot seat game technique can develop vocabulary mastery of grade eight students of SMP Negeri 3 Sirenja, Donggala. Keywords: Developing, Hot seat Game, Vocabulary Mastery |
