Abstrak Mohammad Zulfikar (2023). “The Use of Story Pyramid Strategy to Improve Students Writing Skills of the Eighth Grade Students of SMP 16 Palu.” English Education Study Program, Language and Arts Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, under the supervision of Jamiluddin and Co-Supervisor Mashuri. This research aims to find out whether or not the effectiveness of using the Use of Story Pyramid Strategy to Improve the Writing Skills of the Eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Palu. This research applies a quasi-experimental research design. The population of this research was eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Palu, which consisted of 2 classes. The selection of the sample from this research used a purposive sampling technique. The sample is class VIII A as the experimental group and class VIII B as the control group. The result of pre-test mean score in the experimental group was 57.38, while the pre-test mean score of the control group was 49.52. The result of the mean score of the experimental group increased significantly from 57.38 to 71.90. Furthermore, the results of the data analysis show that the value of t-counted 2.813 is more significant from the t table 2.021 by applying a 0.05 level of significance and degrees of freedom (df) 40. Therefore, the hypothesis in this research is accepted. In conclusion, the ability of eighth grade students to write the narrative text at SMP Negeri 16 Palu can be improved through The Use of Story Pyramid Strategy.
