Abstrak Tri Unisa (A 121 19 140). “A study on the implementation of fairy tale to improve reading comprehension”. Skripsi English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. Under the Supervision of Konder Manurung as Supervisor and Andi Patmasari as Co-Supervisor. This research was conducted through Library Research method which aimed at investigating how fairy tale method was implemented in teaching reading comprehension. The data sources were taken from documents based on scientific writing from 2012 to 2021. Based on the results of the library research method, there are five (5) scientific writers found, there are Samosir (2016), Frimasary and Syahrial (2018) , Hartini (2018), Masyudi (2019) Romdanih and Yuningsih (2021). The results of the analysis show that The Implementation of Fairy tale method in teaching reading comprehension was conducted in several steps. The method of fairy tale is described as a collection of pre-activities, while activities, and post-activities to help students understand, learn, and enjoy the ability in reading comprehension. The application of this method was not only done by depending on this method itself, but also done with the help of various supporting media and method, such as digital fairy tale book, and group discussion. Based on the research question, after implementation of fairy tale method, it was found that all the students at different academic level experienced improvement in their reading comprehension. The Findings imply that used fairy tale in teaching reading comprehension give positive effect to the students and the statistics of the findings found and described from the secondary data sources support the students’ improvement on reading comprehension.
