Abstrak The objective of this research is to determine the influence of classroom atmosphere on the English language learning process and also to ascertain the factors that influence classroom atmosphere and its consequences on the effectiveness of English language learning. The aim is to find out whether the factors of teachers, classmates and classroom facilities influences on the effectiveness of English learning at SMAN 4 Palu. This research uses a qualitative methodology using a qualitative approach. The respondents were students of classes XI L and XI M at SMAN 4 Palu. The data collection methods used in this research were observation and interview with students, to determine the influence of classroom atmosphere on the effectiveness of English learning. The data analysis technique used in this research is based on the observations of the classroom atmosphere, which are outlined in observation sheets, and interviews with students whose transcripts are then converted into dialogue between the researcher and students. The findings of this research indicate that there are several factors, namely those related to the use of teaching methods by teachers that are less developed, so that students are less interested in learning English, classmates who can have negative and positive impacts on students' concentration in the English learning process, and the inadequate facilities can interfere with students' motivation to learn of English learning at SMAN 4 Palu. |
