Abstrak Suginah (A 121 19 078). Using Team Word Webbing Technique to Improve Vocabulary Mastery of the Eighth Grade Students at SMPN 14 Palu. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Arts Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University under the Supervision of Mochtar Marhum and Wahyudin. The objective of this research is to determine if the use of team word webbing can improve the vocabulary of the eighth grade students at SMPN 14 Palu. The researcher applied quasi-experimental design which consisted of two groups; experimental and control group. The sample of this research was the eighth grade students of SMPN 14 Palu; VIII Imam Bonjol with 34 students as the experimental group and VIII Slamet Riyadi with 34 students as the control group that selected by using cluster random sampling. The data were collected by administering a vocabulary test consisted of a pre-test and post-test that conducted at first and last meeting. The result of the pre-test of the experimental group is 44 while control group is 55.52. The result of the post-test of the experimental group is 74.62 while control group is 69.05. By applying 0.05 level significance, the researcher found that the t-counted (7.47) is higher than the t-table (1.669). In conclusion, the use of team word webbing can improve the vocabulary mastery of the eighth grade students at SMPN 14 Palu. Key word: Improve; Vocabulary; Team word webbing. |
