Abstrak
Devi Febrianti, (A12119060). The Use of Dictogloss Method in Developing Vocabulary Mastery of The Eighth Grade Students at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, Under the Supervision of Jamiluddin and Wahyudin. The objective of this research is to find out whether if the use of Dictogloss method can develop vocabulary mastery of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu. This research uses quasi-experimental design consisted of two groups; experimental and control group. The samples of this research uses the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu; VIII Slamet Riyadi with 26 students as the experimental group and VIII Sudirman with 26 students as the control group. The treatment was only given to the experimental group. The result of experimental group’s pre-test is 43.65, while control group is 52.30. The result of experimental group’s post-test is 85.57, while control group is 49.42. By applying 0.05 level of significance, the researcher found that the value of the t-counted (5) is higher than the t-table (1.6777). This means that the hypothesis is accepted. In other words, the use of Dictogloss method can develop vocabulary mastery at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 14 Palu. Key words: Developing, Vocabulary, Dictogloss Method
