| Abstrak ABSTRACT Nurazima,A12119016."The Use of English Song to Teach Listening Skill to the Ninth Grade Students at SMP Negeri 3 Palu.”. Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University. under the supervision of (1) Aminah (2) Muhammad Arid. The objective of this research is to prove that whether the use of english song to teach listening skills effective to the Ninth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 3 Palu of This research applied pre-experimental research design. The research population was the ninth-grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Palu. By using purposive sampling technique, the samples of this research were class IX A that consists of 28 students. In collecting the data, the researcher applied tests. The test was distributed twice as pre-test and post-test. The pretest was given before the treatment conducted and the posttest was conducted after the treatment. The data from the test was analyzed statistically. After analyzing the test, the researcher found that the mean score of pre-tests was low while the mean score of post-tests was higher. The mean post-test score of the pre-experimental class has shown improvement than the mean pre-test of the pre-experimental class by applying 0.05 level significant the researcher found the hypothesis was accepted because the t-counted value was higher than t-table. It means that, the use of English song is effective students to teach listening skill, especially to the Ninth grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Palu Keywords:Teaching, English Song, Listening Skill |
