Abstrak Yusril Desrama, 2025. “The Use of Imaginative Reading Materials to Improve Reading Comprehension of the Eleventh-Grade Students of SMAN 2 Palu”. Skripsi. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Department of Language and Art Education, English Education Study Program, under the supervision of Darmawan and the co-supervisior Hj. Hastini. The aim of this research is to find out whether the use of imaginative reading materials can improve the reading comprehension of eleventh grade students at SMAN 2 Palu; This researcher used a quantitative method and a quasi-experimental as the research design. The population of this research was class XI students of SMAN 2 Palu. Researchers selected samples using purposive sampling techniques. The sample for this research was XI MIA 1 students, totaling 36 students, as the control class and XI MIA 2, totaling 36 students, as the experimental class. Data collected techniques use test instruments (pre-test and post-test). The experimental class was given treatment by imaginative reading materials. Researchers used SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) 22 to analyze the data. The results of data analyzed show that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. This research concludes that imaginative reading materials can improve the reading comprehension of eleventh grade students at SMAN 2 Palu. Average score of the experimental group was higher than the average score of the control group (86.67>75.14). In addition, the results of sig. (2-tailed) lower than 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. Key Words: Improve, Imaginative Reading Materials, Reading Comprehension. |
