| Abstrak ABSTRACT Halim, A 121 18 305. The Implementation of Skimming Technique to Improve Students’ Reading Comprehension at SMPN 1 Sarudu Kecamatan Pasangkayu, English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tadulako University, under the Supervision of Sudarkam R. Mertosono and Wahyudin. This research was aimed at proving that the implimentation of skimming technique could improve students’ reading comprehension of grade eight students of SMP Negeri 1 Sarudu, Kecamatan Pasangkayu. The research applied pre experimental design. The population was 61 students in academic year 2022/2023. The samples were 31 students selected employing purposive sampling technique. Paper and pencil method was used when collecting the data with a test as the instrument. The test was administered twice namely pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed statistically using .05 level of significance and 30 degree of freedom. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the students’ mean score on pretest was 62.74 lower than the posttest’s mean score, 84.84. Comparison the two tests of scale describes that t-counted value = 13.712> t-table value = 1.697. Therefore, Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. It can be concluded that the implimentation of skimming technique can improve students’ reading comprehension of grade eight students of SMP Negeri 1 Sarudu, Kecamatan Pasangkayu.
