Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, 2022. Under supervision of Aminah and Afrillia Anggreni This research aims to determine if Guided Reading Strategy (GRS) can improve reading comprehension of grade eight students of SMP Negeri 2 Bolano. This research applied pre-experimental research design. The sample of this research was the students of class VIII B that consisted of 24 students. The sample were selected by using purposive sampling. The data were collected by giving essay and true false test. The result of data analysis shows that the students’reading comprehension was in poor category before implementing GRS and in good category after implementing GRS. It implies that using guided reading strategy (GRS) as one strategy in the teaching and learning process can improve students’ Reading Comprehension of the grade eight students of SMP Negeri 2 Bolano.
