Language Education And Art Department. Teacher Training And Educational Faculty, Tadulako University. Under The Supervisionof Abdul Kamaruddin And Maf’ulah. The objective of this research was to find out the dominant types of errors in writing recount text of grade eleven students at SMA Labschool Palu. The researcher used qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research was grade eleven students who have experience in writing recount text. The researcher used documentation as the instrument to collect the data. The researcher asked the teacher to give a task to the students. The task was about writing recount text. The students wrote a recount text based on their experience. It could be a holiday or another experience in live. After analysing the students’ task, the researcher found that the dominant types of error that made by grade eleven students of SMA Labschool Palu in writing recount text is past tense. It was 63 percent. Error in spelling 13 percent, article 9 percent and pronoun 13 percent. It can be concluded that the dominant types of error made by grade eleven students at SMA Labschool Palu was past tense. The students got confused to change the verb 1 into verb 2 (past tense).
