| Abstrak Suciana, 2025 “A Study of The Implementation of Shadowing Technique in Teaching Listening Skills (A Library Research)”. Undergraduate Thesis. English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training an Education Faculty, Tadulako University. Supervisor Anjar Kusuma Dewi, Co Supervisor Mashuri. This study aims to analyse the implementation of the shadowing technique in teaching listening skills for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners in Indonesia. Using a library research approach, the study reviews and synthesizes findings from five journal articles published between 2020 and 2024, along with a primary reference by Hamada (2016) on the shadowing technique. The analysis reveals that the shadowing technique is effective in improving students' listening abilities, as evidenced by increased test scores and greater student engagement during learning activities. The technique also contributes positively to students’ pronunciation, intonation, and confidence in understanding and reproducing spoken English in real-time. Although challenges such as large class sizes and students’ anxiety about simultaneous repetition were reported, the benefits of the technique outweigh its limitations. The study recommends that English teachers in Indonesia consider incorporating the shadowing technique into listening instruction and encourages further research into its impact on other language skills and integration into the broader EFL curriculum.
