Abstrak The purpose of this research is to prove whether or not the use of reciprocal technique can improve students reading comprehension of the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 19 Palu. This research applied pre-experimental design. The population of this research were students of the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 19 Palu. The sample in this research consist 26 students. The sample was selected by using purposive sampling. The data was collected through multiple choice, comprehension questions and matching test before (pre-test) and after (post-test) treatment. The result of this final research shows that the t-counted is higher than the t-table, it implies that the hypothesis of this research is accepted. It means that the students’ reading comprehension of the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 19 Palu can be improved by using Reciprocal Technique.
