Abstrak
This research aims to determine the teacher's perception of the teaching strategies used in teaching reading comprehension. This research is qualitative descriptive. The subject of this research was 3 English teachers. The researcher employed two instruments, namely questionnaire and interview. Data analysis technique used is data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The result of this research indicated that there are three strategies that teachers prefer to use in teaching reading comprehension, namely scaffolding, reciprocal teaching and QAR. The teachers in SMP Negeri 9 perceive that those strategies are useful for helping their students in solving reading comprehension problems.
