| Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pnguasaan kosa kata meningkat melalui video atau tidak. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen semu, yang menggunakan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Sindue Tobata yang berjumlah 72 siswa. 25 siswa VIII A dan 22 siswa VIII B. Kelas VIII A menjadi kelas kontrol dan VIII B menjadi kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes, tes tersebut meliputi pretest dan posttest. Nilai rata-rata pretest adalah 29.0 untuk kelas eksperimen dan 31.6 untuk kelas kontrol, sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest adalah 58.2 untuk kelas eksperimen dan 21.6 untuk kelas kontrol. Hasil data dianalisis secara statistik data dengan menerapkan rumus uji-t. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai t-counted sebesar 13.0 Menerapkan 45 derajat kebebasan (Nx + Ny – 2 = 22 + 25 - 2) dan tingkat signifikansi 0.05 nilai t-table adalah 1.943. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa nilai uji-t lebih tinggi dari nilai t-table. Artinya hipotesis penelitian ini diterima. Oleh karena itu penggunaan Video dapat meningkatkan kosakata siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 1 Sindue Tobata Donggala. Kata Kunci: Meningkatkan, kosakata, video The aim of this research is to find out whether vocabulary mastery is increased through video or not. This research used quasi-experimental design, that uses two classes, the experimental class, and the control class. The population of this research was the grade VIII students of SMPN 1 Sindue Tobata, which consisted of 72 students class VIII A became the control class and VIII B became the experimental class. The researcher used test as the research instrument. There are two kinds of test: pre-test and post-test. The pretest means score was 29.0 for the experimental class and 31,6 for the control class, while the posttest means score was 58.2 for the experimental class and 21.6 for the control class. The results of the data analysis statistical data by applying the t-test formula. The results of data analysis showed the t-counted value of 13.0. Applying 45 degrees of freedom (Nx + Ny – 2 = 22 + 25 - 2) and the significance level of 0.05 the t-table value is 1.943. The calculation results show that the t-test value is higher than the t-table value. It means that the hypothesis of this research is accepted. Therefore, the use of Video can increase the vocabulary of grade VIII students at SMPN 1 Sindue Tobata Donggala. Keywords:Increasing, Vocabulary, and Video |
