| Abstrak Silvasari (2025). This skripsi entitled “Developing Speaking Skills of Grade Seven Students of SMPN 04 Tanantovea Through Role Play Technique.” Thesis. English Education Study Program, Department of Language and Art Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, under the supervision of Sudarkam and Wahyudin. This research aims to find out whether the Role Play Technique can develop the speaking skills of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 04 Tanantovea. The population of this research was the seventh-grade students 2023/2024 academic year, which consisted of 36 students. The researcher used a total sampling to take the sample. In VII-A consisted 18 students as the experimental group, and in VII-B consisted 18 students as the control group. The research design was a quasi-experimental design. The instrument to collect the data was a test: pre-test, treatment, and post-test in both groups. The t-count was 7,41 and the t-table was 2,03, which used 0,05 as the significance level of this research. T-counted value was higher than t-table (7,41> 2,03). It means that the hypothesis was accepted. Based on this research, it can be concluded that using Role Play is effective in developing students’ speaking skills.
