Abstrak This research is aimed to find out whether there is or not the application of Story Completion Technique develops the speaking skill of the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 3 Palu. This research was conducted through pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest research design in which the samples of the research were 25 students of eleventh grades. To obtain the data of this research is analysed statistically in order to find out the significant between pretest and posttest result after the treatment. It was found that the mean score of pretests 48.8 and posttest 64,6. Referring to the ttable value of df 24 (25-1) by applying 0.05 level of significance on one tailed test, it is found that the tcounted value of this research (22.9) is higher than the ttable value (1.710). Result from the interpretation of the data revealed that the implementation of Story Completion Technique can develop speaking skill of the eleventh-grade students at SMA N 3 Palu.
